Dr. Livingston Marshall
Scientific Advisor
Dr. Livingston Marshall is Senior Vice President of Environmental & Community Affairs at Baker's Bay Golf & Ocean Club.
Dr. Marshall earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Science from Hampton University and a Ph.D. in Marine Science from The School of Marine Sciences, The Virginia Institute of Marine Science at the College of William & Mary. He is the first Bahamian to receive a Ph.D. in Marine Science.
Dr. Marshall spent the first 10 years of his professional career as a Professor at The University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Clark Atlanta University and Morgan State University. While serving as a professor, Dr. Marshall was appointed to various fisheries, marine, and environmental science committees including:
- The International Conference for Exploration of The Seas Workgroup on Ecosystem Effects of Fishing;
- Subcommittee on Fisheries for the US/South Africa Binational Commission;
- The US Department of Interior Minerals Management Advisory Board Outer Continental Shelf Scientific Committee;
- The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) – University Action Committee;
- The Advisory Board for The National Aquarium in Baltimore, Maryland; and
- The Chesapeake Bay Program Living Resources Subcommittee.
In 2005, Dr. Marshall joined The Baker’s Bay Golf and Ocean Club development at Great Guana Cay, Abaco. As a Senior Vice President, he is directly responsible for environmental and community affairs and advises the development on human capital resources. In 2012, Dr. Marshall was named a Partner in Passerine at Abaco Holdings, Ltd., the parent company for the various subsidiaries comprising the Passerine development.
